Property Description
Although the University of Exeter was founded as a university in 1955, its campuses sit on the bones of old, historical educational institutions. For example, some parts of St Luke’s campus can be dated back to 1854 when it was used to train schoolmasters by the Church College of Education. And, to this day, the University continues to win itself a place in the history books.
As a member of the Russell Group, a collection of Universities recognised and rewarded for their leading research and discoveries, it is no surprise that the University of Exeter has made incredible scientific developments including the discovery and treatment of a new form of diabetes. The University recently invested £52.5 million on their new Living Systems Institute which aims to house 200 scientists as they focus on disease prevention.
The sites owned by the university are not only academic but also extremely picturesque and are spread across Exeter and Cornwall. The University welcomes over 22,000 students from 130 different countries and repeatedly ranks highly for student satisfaction on the National Student Survey.
Well known for its awareness of environmental issues, The University of Exeter is seen in Britain as a ‘green’ establishment. They regularly hold discussions and exhibitions for the public raising awareness of Global warming and the impact humans are having on the earth.
